How many times have you been to Greece? In today’s #ExperienceOfTheWeek, we talk to Nikoleta, a co-founder of Let’s Book Travel, a travel agency and tour provider based in this beautiful land of Gods. Continue reading and you’ll find out why one visit to Greece is not enough, how many islands are there, and what are some of the most adventurous things you can do on your trip to Santorini, Athens, or any other popular Greek destination. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Q1: Hi Nikoleta, how are you doing?
Hello, I’m fine, thanks! Glad to be here with you.
Q2: Tell us more about Let’s Book Travel. Where did the idea come from?
The idea was simple actually. We have been working in the tourism section for over 12 years and we knew there was a high demand for local tours and activities. Many providers were not listed on the big travel websites since they lacked the time or knowledge to do so. This was the gap we filled in – taking care of the whole process for the operators and providing our customers with unique activities they can’t book anywhere else in Greece.
Q3: Greece is an amazing destination and I bet there are dozens of things to show to fellow travelers. How big is your team? Are you all locals?
Greece is unique and it has hundreds of diverse areas and more than 285 archaeological sites the visitor can enjoy. That is also why our team in the office is rather small and we chose to focus on local representative partnerships all over Greece specifically with someone local for each destination.
Q4: Your selection of experiences is literally endless – you offer everything from sightseeing to cruises to food & wine tours. What are the most popular activities among travelers who come to you?
Indeed the list is endless and we enrich it daily. We look for new things to offer constantly and we review each one every year. If we have bad feedback for any activity, we remove it from our offered products. The most popular activities are boat tours as Greece is famous for its sun and sea.
Q5: Today many people travel and plan their itineraries on their own. Why would you recommend booking one of your experiences to our travelers?
Well, we have customers who trust us to plan their whole trip in Greece from arrival to departure as they trust our expertise in the destination. But if someone wishes to plan their own itinerary, we still advise some unique activities as many of our products cannot be booked anywhere else. Not even locally as they are designed and operated by us.
Q7: The travel industry is in uncharted waters right now but we all hope travel will rebound soon. What does the situation in Greece look like right now? How was your summer season?
Greece did better than expected this season since our cases were low. As I said before, Greece has hundreds of areas one can visit, therefore it is the ideal destination to enjoy some time off, relax and unwind in these difficult times. We have more than 230 islands, therefore the visitor can avoid the crowded touristic areas without missing out on anything.
Q8: Last but not least, what is your favorite destination in Greece that you’d take your friends to see or experience? Tips from a true local are always worth it 🙂
My favorite destination, besides Santorini that is a must-see in Greece, is Corfu. It is an island in the Ionian Sea, fully balanced with nature and it has a variety of things to do from partying and cosmopolitan areas to unspoiled beaches and local wineries, so it can satisfy all kinds of travelers. We offer unique cruises to the virgin seas of Blue Lagoon in Paxos and Antipaxos as well as local winery or photography tours.
