Another day is here and so is our #ExperienceOfTheWeek series in which we introduce to you some of the most popular tour & local experience providers around the globe. Today, we have a chat with Denis, our friend from VIP London Tour – UK-based tour provider with literally endless options of how to make your stay in the beautiful Scottish mountains or London busy streets more memorable. More about VIP London Tour from Denis himself in the interview below.

Q1: Hi Denis, how are you doing?

Thank you for asking. I am good. I hope you are well too.

Q2: Tell us more about VIP London Tour. How did it all start?

I started to travel a lot and by now I have visited 80 countries. Often use services of the guides myself so I can see what makes tourists happy. And in 2005 I decided to start my own tour company for VIP clients around the world who wish to visit London and the UK. So I called it Viplondontour.

Q3: I know that private tours are just one of the experiences that travelers can book with you. What else do you do?

We are offering small group tours which is perfect for nowadays. So everyone can have some social distance. Also, we started online zoom tours for tourists who cannot visit the UK for some reason. Another quite popular movie tours around are Harry Potter film locations tour and a similar tour for James Bond fans. Another favorite is our 1-day tour from London to famous Stonehenge, Bath and Windsor Castle. We are offering also private drivers for the shopping experience and interpreters for foreign visitors.

Q4: The UK is a quite trending destination in Europe and there are people visiting from around the globe. Where do your customers usually come from?

I would say most customers coming from the USA, Germany, Italy, France. Some tourists from Russia and Asia.

Q5: Coming to a foreign country as a traveler it often calls for funny stories. Can you think of any faux-pas or other unforgettable experience you’ve had recently?

I had an interesting experience recently when I visited India. I went to see the film location of the movie The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and I just told my friends it would be nice to meet Judi Dench. Suddenly she just appeared in front of us walking from the hotel. This was amazing. I am a huge fan of hers and it was almost impossible to believe that my dream came true.

Q6: Today many people travel and plan their itineraries on their own. Why would you recommend booking one of your experiences to our travelers?

What I would recommend to everyone is to spend the first day of your stay in London. Maybe half a day so you don’t feel too tired after your flight. During 3-4 hours private driving tour we will stop by Westminster Abbey,  Parliament, Big Ben. Then, we walk a bit around Trafalgar square and Leicester square popular area. Take some photos of St Pauls and Tower Bridge.

On the next day, I would recommend you to travel outside London to experience that nice and quiet atmosphere of Hampton court palace, Leeds Castle or Stonehenge.

Q7: Last but not least, what is your favorite spot in London that you’d take your friends to see or experience? Tips from a true local are always worth it 🙂

When my friends are visiting I always take them to some local historical pubs. I even created a special Pub tour around famous pubs in London. One of them is the pub where Dickens wrote his Little Dorrit. There are just so many beautiful places. You will need at least a week to discover some of them. Let’s discover them all together 🙂
