Best things to do in Osaka
About Osaka
This large port city and commercial center on the Japanese island of Honshu combines hustle and bustle with beautiful natural surroundings, easy to get around by car or other modes of transportation.
Modern architecture sweeps the city, but you can also find the main historical landmark of the 16th-century shogunate Osaka Castle, which has been through several restorations. It’s currently surrounded by a moat, and also a park.
In the park, tourists can find plum, peach, and cherry-blossom trees. One of Japan’s oldest Shinto shrines, the Sumiyoshitaisha, is also located here.
Aside from the visible beauty, tourists can also enjoy the city’s amazing casual food, as it’s arguably known as Japan’s street food capital. Guests can enjoy good food along with good company, as food lovers and lively, extroverted locals will join you for an amazing eating and drinking experience.
