Best things to do in Marrakesh
About Marrakesh
Marrakesh is a major economic center and home to many historical beauties such as gardens, mosques, and palaces.
You’ll see how religion is the main feature in this city and is a part of everyday life. This former original imperial city in Western Morocco is home to stunning examples of Islamic architecture such as the Ali Ben Youssef Medersa and the Koutoubia minaret. The city also pays tribute to other religious communities. For example, you can head over to the Jewish district of the mellah to visit the Lazama Synagogue and Miaara Jewish cemetery.
One of the most unique attributes of the city is the souq shopping. The shopping center is laid out according to a labyrinthine medieval-era plan and it has so much to offer, such as spices, a Moroccan carpet, and more!
