About Edinburgh

This capital of Scotland is compact and hilly but consists of plenty of historical attributes such as the Scottish Parliament, the Brittania, the Palace of Holyrood House, and the St Giles Cathedral.

Perhaps Edinburgh is known for some of its famous pieces of architecture, such as the Edinburg Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny. The castle sits on a 700-million-year-old extinct volcano, and 6 days a week you can see the “One O’Clock Gun” fires take place.

Or, the Harry Potter Castle, which is exciting for kids and adults who loved the movie series. Visitors can also see the other film locations including Greyfriars Kirkyard and Victoria Street.

Explore Calton Hill, topped with monuments and memorials, including the unfinished National Monument. It has sweeping views of the city and homes the Edinburgh Playhouse.

For animal lovers and family fun, visitors will love to see the one and only knighted penguin in the world living at the Edinburgh Zoo.
