Český Krumlov is among the most popular traveling destinations in the Czech Republic because it seems straight out of a fairytale, making it seem very romantic. It’s located in the South Bohemia region of the Czech Republic and is bisected by the Vltava River, conquered by its a massive, picturesque 13th-century castle overlooking the old town. The castle has Gothic, Renaissance, and baroque elements, an 11-hectare garden, and an original 17th-century baroque theater. There are panoramic views of the old town and the river from the top of its round belltower, giving the city its historical charm.
Some other recommended sites include the Church of St. Vitus, the Minorite Monastery, and the Marionette Museum. You’ll be sure to get lost amidst the lovely paintings, exquisite tapestries, and period furnishings.
Although most of what you will see today dates back to old times and has been preserved and restored in the best possible shape and form, the city has upgraded to add breweries and markets, making it a very unique spot for visitors.
