About Cannes

There’s a reason why they call this city a resort town. Its Boulevard de la Croisette glides along the coast and is one of the more fashionable streets on the French Riviera. It’s lined with sandy beaches, chic boutiques and lavish hotels, making this city very luxurious. These distinct hotels emerged in the 19th century, when a pier was established in 1838. An opportunity for yachting soon developed as well as a casino.

If you want to feel glamorous, take a visit to the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, which is a modern building complete with a red carpet. Walk along the Allee des Etoiles, Cannes’ walk of fame. You’ll truly feel as if you’re a celebrity in this city.

The boulevard extends from the Palais des Festivals to the rose garden, or La Roseraie, giving you plenty of outdoor activity all along the strip, while also feeling like it’s your own personal, private getaway.

Cannes is also popular for their international film festival. It previews new films of all genres from all around the world.  The Festival de Cannes happens annually and first started in September 1946.
