Leave bustling Casablanca for a day out to see the Portuguese cities of Azemmour and El Jadida. The narrow streets, beautiful buildings and gates combine Portuguese, Arab, Andalusian and Berber architectural styles. Discover how the charm of both towns comes from their medinas or old sections.

After leaving Casablanca, your tour begins with a drive from the pier to Azemmour via the charming coastal road. Stop at the entrance of Azemmour for a panoramic view of this white-washed town on the banks of the Oum Er-Rbia River. Then, drive to one of the town's main gates Sidi Makhfi, named after one of the town's sufism figures. Walk through the Kasbah to reach a large square overlooking the river. Close to the square, a synagogue still stands as a witness to the coexistence among the native inhabitants and the Jewish community. Continue to the Portuguese town of Mazagan, later named El Jadida by the Arabs and savour a buffet lunch of international cuisine in the magnificent “Mazagan Beach and Golf resort” a glamorous five-star hotel located in a beautiful setting overlooking the North Atlantic coast, with a spectacular beach and ocean views. In the afternoon, visit the cavernous cistern built by the Portuguese settlers to serve as a water reservoir in the event of a prolonged siege. Walk through the medina and stop to admire a panoramic view of the port and the Atlantic Ocean. Then return to Casablanca on the coastal road and reach your hotel by 5 PM.
