The ultimate cava experience
Mix up your Barcelona trip with something unexpected thanks to this 3-hour Cava-making workshop. Journey to a local winery, complete with a charming onsite farmhouse, as you learn the origins of this iconic Catalan sparkling wine. You’ll sample three varieties during a tasting session. After selecting your favorite vintage, you’ll get to pour, label and cork a bottle of your very own, creating the perfect souvenir. Your tasting and all entrance fees are included.
This is a very unique workshop in the world of wine tourism, in a boutique winery where you will participate personally with the owners, who are us. Feel free to take tons of photos and videos to put on Facebook, Instagram, twitter and you´ll see how you will be the envy of your friends! It’s possible to extend the activity with a typical local lunch for + 28€.
How to Arrive at ArtCava Winery
The ArtCava winery is located nearby the Lavern-Subirats train station in the famous Penedes wine region, which is a 40 minutes journey from Barcelona’s central Sants train station and costs 4,2€ each way. We can collect you from Lavern-Subirats station by van (for no additional cost) and take you to the ArtCava winery (5 mins away), and we will also return you to the station after your visit.
(Sants is the main station in Barcelona, but you can also catch the train from Plaça Catalunya train station and Arc de Triomf train station. Just look for the RENFE station, not the metro, in each case. There are plenty of signs!).
We can also manage private transfers from and to Barcelona (it works for big groups).
How To Buy Train Tickets
You can buy your tickets directly at the train station from a ticket machine (don't worry, they are user-friendly and have an English language option), or at the ticket office, just be sure to arrive 10-15 minutes beforehand in case there is a small queue. Once you have your tickets you can find the correct platform by looking for Line 4 (Linea R4) train heading in the Vilafranca del Penedés/Sant Vicenç de Calders direction (if this sounds complicated, don't worry, there is usually a helpful attendant standing next to the self-service machines that can assist you).
Train Timetable
Once you have booked a time and day for your activity, I will give you more precise information about train timetables, but don’t worry the trains are regular and it’s very easy to arrive here. We have many foreign travelers arriving every week! If you want to check yourself just click here and enter your preferred Barcelona station as "source" and Lavern-Subirats as "destination".
Start Time
We normally start the Create Your Own Cava workshop everyday at 10:30am. If you would like us to collect you from Lavern-Subirats train station then the meeting time is at the station at 10:10am.
