The Punta Aderci Nature Reserve was the first reserve on the Abruzzo coast and protects the coastline that falls within the territory of the municipality of Vasto (CH). Central point of the Reserve is the promontory of Punta Aderci, from the top the view extends for 360 ° from the Maiella to the Gran Sasso and to the coast of the overflows, from the pebble beach of Mottagrossa to the beach of the Libertini; at sunset, on particularly favorable days, you can see the outline of the Conero.

Punta Aderci or Punta d'Erce is the most valuable stretch of coast in Abruzzo: 5 km of spectacular cliffs, rocks, sandy or pebble beaches, dunes and a sea of green and blue shades. Interesting is the dune system among the most preserved in Abruzzo where the sequence of plant species ranges from pioneer plants of the mobile dunes to those of the fixed dunes, therefore the shrubs and the Mediterranean scrub. In the depressions between the dunes, water often stagnates to form wetlands with reeds, here it is possible to observe and photograph many species of birds that winter there; emblematic is the little brother who is the symbol of the reserve.

There are numerous opportunities to photograph: from the bright colors of the flowers to the birds and then the rocks, waves and sumptuous sunsets and sunrises, in fact this is one of the few places in Abruzzo where the sun rises and sets over the sea.
